Mason 7th Grade

First year at Franklin Jr. High

Mason loves weight training, basketball, and girls. (or maybe I should say a specific girl.)

Mason made the basketball team he enjoys playing and making new friends.

 Noah 5th Grade

Franklin Elementary School

 Noah loves Kickball at recess, math and computer class.

Noah tried flag football at school this year and has really enjoyed playing.

Callie 3rd Grade

Franklin Elementary School

Callie loves Art, friends and recess (when it's not too dang hot!)

She still has a handful of boys swooning over her writing her notes and giving her jewelry. 

I still can't believe  Mason is in jr. high.  It's fun to hear him talking about girls at school. He's not girl crazy but I am surprised at how easily he talks to girls and invites them to things like his games. I was not that smooth at this age.

Noah's Hero

I came home from a busy day to find this gem on my kitchen table. Noah was working on this poster for school and I was pleasantly surprised when I read over it. Happy tears to my eyes.

I'm generally not a fan of homework. I have a theory, it's totally just punishment for parents. But this assignment. This assignment I'm going to treasure forever. April has been gluten free for almost a year now and I am so proud of how she has handled it. Like Noah said she's always happy and understanding. She is constantly asking "Is it gluten free?"

California Family Trip

Before school started we wanted to make it to the beach. We invited our friends the Guthrie family and had a blast playing in the ocean and the sand. Nanna's sister (who lives in California) met up with us for a couple days too. Her daughter Hana is Callie's age which she enjoyed playing with and getting to know.
Mason was a trooper poor kid wasn't feeling 100% and had this horrible cough off and on the whole trip. No fevers but you could just tell his body was fighting something. He would play in the waves for a few hours then come crash on the shore for a nap. If you know Mason that's NOT how he rolls. When we go to the beach he is in the ocean for hours and hours NONSTOP. But he never complained or anything.
Noah had a great time hanging out with Kaz. And April stayed on the shore most of the time. She wasn't the biggest fan of the ocean. She sure did love chasing seagulls and collecting "Shee-shells".
All in all it was a successful trip. We made it home the day before school started and had a great time. Poor Mason when we got home I took him to the doctor and discovered he had walking pneumonia. That kid amazes me with his paint tolerance and energy.
