This week my mom came over to color and decorated Easter Eggs with the boys! They had a lot of fun. My mom also brought over her sidewalk chalk for us to play with! They had such a fun afternoon with Grandma Faler. Thanks mom.
Here's my mom teaching Mason how to draw a race car track!
Easter morning! Before we let them find their baskets we sat them down and talked about the real meaning of Easter. I'm not sure how much Mason absorbed or understood. After General Conference yesterday, I was reminded that it's important to have those small teaching moments. Where did the Easter bunny come from anyways? I get the whole getting gifts part. Christ gave us the best gift of all. But... where did the bunny come in? Oh-well the boys sure enjoyed their Easter.
The boys didn't have any trouble finding their Easter baskets.
Noah kept saying, "cheese!"
Mason announcing his "Scooby-Doobie-Doo! movie!!!" He absolutely LOVES Scooby-Doo!
One of my patients at work gave me the idea of getting the boys swim suits for their Easter baskets! I LOVE it!

Happy Easter Huber family! It is a bizzarre tradition huh - a rabbit who delivers eggs? But some interesting history - Eastre was the Anglo Saxon goddess of fertility and they believed her earthly incarnation was a rabbit. And edible eggs originated in Germany. So it's a melting pot of beliefs and traditions! It's all good fun, as long as, like you say, we teach the true meaning, just like at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteCute idea! It's hard to keep the two meanings separate sometimes as parents. We probably stress about it more than we should. I guess the important thing is that we are teaching them all the time about the important things, not just on holidays. You are a GREAT, fun mom! Love the sleeping pictures by the way!
ReplyDeleteYou do have a wonderful mother! Looks like you had a great Easter! Love the cheese picture. We missed you at dinner!
ReplyDeleteThat was such a fun day with your boys and COLTER - spelling... I don't think I have done sidewalk chalk with anyone else - it should be a tradition...don't you think? What does Ron think? It IS his driveway...
ReplyDeleteYour mom is so cute! I can definitely see where you get your wonderful motherhood traits from. It sounds like you gys had a wonderful Easter. It was such a beautiful Easter weekend wasn't it? Perfect too that General Conference fell on that weekend. It was the icing on the cake! I love the Easter hunt pictures, your boys look like they had SO much fun!
