51 miles in 3 weekends!

I'm a little embarrassed to blog about this. These past few weeks have been CRAZY! I had the opportunity to run 3 races in 3 weeks. I ran Ragnar on February 22-23rd, then my marathon on March 2nd, and today I competed in a 5k Survivor mud run!!! I really didn't mean for these 3 events to be so close and all together but it just kind of happened that way. The HIGHLIGHT of my past few tiring weekends has been my family coming out to support and cheer me on. Hearing my kids yell "Go Mommy Go!" and even now as I scroll through pictures of my running events Callie is chanting Go Mommy! I love it. I know that dragging the kids along to these type of events is not an easy task and I love Ron even more for it.

Let's start with Ragnar:
Ragnar is the overnight running relay race of 200 miles that is an absolute BLAST!!!  Our team was made up of 12 individuals; with each individual running 3 different legs. The legs of the race vary in difficulty and distance, from 3-8 miles each. Over 2 days and 1 night, teams run this 200 mile race. My legs were about 22 miles total. My Uncle Jason put me in charge of my "van" (6 runners), I recruited 5 other women, and organized our vehicle. 5 days before the race started my friend Meagan came down with Pnemonia and was unable to run with us. This unfortunate turn of events ended up being a blessing in disguise. The girl Meagan recruited was the one and only Erin Norris! An adorable dental hygiene student with whom I formed an immediate friendship (not just because she is going into dental hygiene!!) What can I say I LOVE this girl!

Our team name was YOLO
"You Only Live Once"
Waiting for our teamates:
I was the only one on our team that knew EVERYONE. It didn't matter that these women didn't know eachother, we had such a great group of gals and had such a good time!
Me and Erin Sare! My childhood "play cousin"!
My friend Kaycie from highschool! We used to run Cross Country together! We haven't seen each other in YEARS, but when I called her up to see if she was interested in joining us she jumped at the chance!
We spent a lot of time in Jen's Armada!
I can't forget to mention our amazing driver Taylor (Amy's boyfriend), he was a hoot! Amy is a fellow runner's club chick!

 Our night runs!

We didn't get to see the other van very much but here is me cheering on my Uncle Jason! Gooooo Jason!

Survivor Mud Run:
Our group of "Dashing Divas" signed up for another mud run! The day before the race it rained almost all day, which made this race particularly difficult because of all the slippery-sticky MUD. Half the race I felt like I was skating because my feet were sliding around so much.

It seemed like the hills were ENDLESS! Super-slippery and almost immpossible to run up!

  3. You are awesome!! And a great motivator. I can't wait to get back into good running shape. I really missed Ragnar this year! A full marathon I'm still undecided about. :) But, I plan to run Ragnar next year if you want to do it again!
