It's funny how big of an ordeal it is to leave my kids behind (we don't do it all that often) and how exciting is it to spend time one on one with Ron. But most of the time we caught ourselves saying "Callie would really like this... or Noah would be hanging out over there by the fountain... or Mason would be splashing those people over there." We did miss them lots even though it we were gone less than 48 hrs.
The bathroom by far was the most amazing! Nice walk in-shower and HUGE tub!
A perfect weekend except...
At 4am I woke up to Ron calmly saying "Shelly, turn the light on. Something just stung me" I don't think I've jumped out of bed so fast! Ron went to the bathroom and I procedure to look for the culprit. As I went through each layer of bedding I found a small scorpion crawling among the sheets. I grabbed my empty water bottle on the night stand and proceeded to trap it in. (A little tricky because unlike our dumb crickets at home for our lizard, scorpions don't just crawl into a tube placed right by them. LOL) My one regret (besides the fact that Ron got stung at all) is I didn't get a good picture of the scorpion before he was in my water bottle.
Ron was stung on the face under his left eye. We called the poison helpline and read as much info online about scorpions as we could. I'm pretty confident it wasn't a bark scorpion (a really nasty ones). Ron said it didn't hurt too bad and when the hotel offered to switch rooms we declined. I was thinking "I caught the intruder. Who knows whats in another room?!" Ron said it didn't hurt too bad and so we decided to go back to sleep. Ron has an extremely high pain tolerance so I'm sure it bothered him more than he led on. Poor guy proceeded to have "phantom crawling sensations" on his face the remainder of the night. As for me, I just dreamed I kept accidentally drinking out of the water bottle I caught the scorpion in. Ewwwwww
All in all Ron said he would take another scorpion sting again because the resort ended up comping our fee for that night. Sweet! Our vacation cost half as much!!! I think we would go back to this resort in the future all other experiences were pleasant. I'm incredibly grateful to my sister Maryann who OFFERED and insisted on doing this. She is 37 weeks pregnant and handles life like a super woman! She is going to be one rock-star mom, I just know it! (Let's face it. If she can handle my 3 little monsters! She can handle ANYTHING!)

This looks SO fun! I'm so glad you guys got a weekend away together... you totally deserve it!
