Fabulous Saturday

It's been FOREVER since we didn't have something scheduled on a Saturday. i.e. basketball games, me working, church meetings, baptisms', scout camp outs... etc. So when I realized today was the day of not much going on I wanted to take advantage of family time! I decided late Friday night that we were going to hike the wind caves. I invited my mom and I'm so glad she came! I told Ron to go to basketball (something he hasn't enjoyed in months) and off we went! Wind Cave Trail is located in North Mesa and is about 3 miles round trip. It's rated and considered a difficult hike. But if according to Callie "This is a really easy hike! It's not hard at all!"

April of course was amazing! She slept on the way up and back down. She also LOVED the squirrels wandering and begging for food at the top.

It's been a while since I've taken my kids on something like this and I didn't know how it would play out. Last time I did this hike Callie was about 2 and on my back. Halfway back down the mountain 4 year old Noah needed me to carry him so I did. Callie on my back and Noah in the front. It was a little painful. I'm happy to report Callie did not request that. She handled this hike like a champ! Although, I'm not going to lie after hiking with April on my back today I'm really nervous about hiking Havasupai with Ron this summer. I'm so glad my mom came to help today and as always it was nice to have her company.

Saturday night Ron took me out on a date. We ate yummy food, did some shopping and ended at the jacuzzi. Perfect day and perfect way to end the week.
