Mason had the opportunity to perform in the MHS Musical this Spring “Bye Bye Birdie”. I had never heard of or seen this movie/play before this experience but I think they did an amazing job. Endless hours and hours of practice and hard work paid off. Mason had to sacrifice swimming for his club team for a few months. I’m so proud of him and I really enjoyed watching him on stage. He really surprised me. I got to attend almost every single performance and loved it every time. I think my favorite was hearing his recap each night right after the performance. Each night had a fun twist or a small mishap. Including but not limited to Mason wearing two different shoes in one scene (because he had accidentally stolen someone else’s shoe) wearing his vest backwards during a scene, missing props or prop furniture accidentally placed backwards. Minor things that no one noticed but were fun to talk about later. I can tell he developed some lasting friendships with some really good kids during this experience and I’m so glad he got to be part of it.
