Callie wanted to do Synchronized swimming again this year. They call it Artistic Swimming now... weird. Monday-Thursday she goes to MHS from 7-8am then stays for Synchro from 8:30-9:30am. It's not always easy to get her up in the mornings but overall it's going great and I know it's good exercise for her. The artistic swimming meets are called "silent" meets they don't encourage cheering until the awards at the very end. Each participant has a number they line up and perform a couple different "figures" in front of a panel of 3 judges. They are graded on a scale and recorded for later when they are awarded. At the end of the meet we thought Callie might get 5 or 6th just because she's younger in her group and has only done Synchro for 2 summers now. We were thrilled and pleasantly surprised when she got 3rd place! I love that her good friend Aliah drives really far to participate with her in this sport.
